For the first time in Antioquia, a mass passenger bus transportation company obtains certifications in three comprehensive management systems: Quality, Environment and Occupational Health and Safety. Masivo de Occidente S.A.S. – MDO – received certification for its Quality Management, Environmental Management and Occupational Health and Safety Management systems on Thursday, May 26, 2016, in a ceremony that took place at the Company’s facilities. During the event, Fernando Montoya Echeverri, manager of MDO, highlighted the participation of all employees to obtain the three certifications and explained the importance of this achievement for users, the community and other interest groups. Likewise, he emphasizedMDO’s commitment to ensuring the well-being of its users and the community it serves, and stated that “We Move Lives” is the company’s highest purpose. He also referred to the environmentally friendly nature of the Organization that he manages and the technical-mechanical characteristics of the buses that he operates, with improved Euro 6 and Euro 5 technologies.
Our Fleet
The fleet of feeder buses operated by MDO is made up of 112 vehicles, 108 of these use Natural Gas Vehicles and 4 of our buses are 100% electric This means, among other things, that they drastically reduce the emission of polluting gases, especially nitrous oxides, and that they do not contribute PM2.5 particles to the air of the Aburrá Valley. PM2.5 particles are those smaller than 2.5 microns, one hundred times thinner than a human hair, and their danger lies in the fact that when inhaled by living beings, they travel through the respiratory system without any hitch. On the other hand, our fleet is subjected to a washing system that takes advantage of and reuses rainwater, thus eliminating the generation of discharges and avoiding the clogging and pollution of the city’s water bodies.
We use Vehicular Natural Gas and Electric Energy in our units, reducing the emission of polluting gases.

We reuse up to 97% of the water we use in the washing system of our units.
